Hi Mama 🤎 Thanks for hanging in there with me these last couple days through this launch! My hope is that I've inspired you to find joy in your own motherhood journey and to celebrate how far you've come. Being a farm and ranch mama isn't easy, we all know that. And I could be wrong about this, but I'm guessing that raising kids on the ranch will be the hardest and most rewarding thing I ever do. 🫶🏻 And with that, I leave you with a poem I wrote almost a year ago that still holds true today. Motherhood + Ranching | The Best of Both Worlds We pull calves, pull kids on sleds, pull trailers, and pull hay rakes. We count cows, count kids, count bales, and sometimes - we count the hours until bedtime. We feed kids, cows, the cow’s kids, cowboys, and crews - always feeding someone or something. We nurture the garden, nurture our homesteads, and nurture the next generation. We sort cows, sort clothes, and sort out squabbles amongst the children. We clean pens, clean baby bottles, clean bum bottles, and clean up after kids. We grow crops, grow kids, grow our faith, grow as a mother, and grow as a rancher. We change diapers and change hand line, change plans and change bed times. We push pairs, push strollers, and push mowers. We nurse our own babies and sometimes help the cows nurse their own babies. We pay doctor bills and parts bills, pick up cow medicine and kid medicine. We fix fences, fix boo-boos, fix flat tires and fix broken toys. We cut hay, hair, bale strings and sometimes, corners. We get the gate, get the mail, and sometimes get yelled at while working cows. We’re building fences and sandcastles, we’re building our legacy. We climb into the saddle, into the tractor, and at the end of the day, into our beds. We are Mothers. We are Ranchers. This is what life looks like when you live where you work and work where you live. This is Motherhood + Ranching | The Best of Both Worlds 🤠For 3 days ONLY (4/22-4/24), you can preorder the “In My Mom Era” tees for Mother’s Day delivery! Hey! I want to take a moment to introduce myself—and the incredible woman joining me to help lead the Soul Strength Retreat: A Retreat for Women of the Land. Hi! I'm Jesse-born and raised a farmer’s daughter and now living my dream as the rancher’s wife and mother of 3, I’ve been living the rural life for a little while now. However, I’ll be the first to tell you it isn’t always easy, and I hardly ever get it right. In between ranching and chasing kids, I love coffee, gardening, quilting and...
Hi @firstname! Today’s email from me is a little more personal. I was looking back through my journal that I've keep my ideas in over the last 2 years as one does when planning something big (like a retreat!) and found an entry that I wrote in January of 2023 and I wanted to share it with you: "I want to become a life coach for rural women. I want to help them reach their full potential and thrive in their roles on the farm and ranch. Rural women are the foundation of the farm and ranch. They...
Dear fellow woman of the land, I get it. The early mornings, the late nights, the meals thrown together between chores. The endless to-do list that never seems to shrink. The weight of keeping everything running—on the farm, in the home, for your family. You give so much of yourself to everyone and everything else… but when’s the last time you did something just for you? That’s exactly why I created Soul Strength. Imagine stepping away from the daily grind for a weekend surrounded by women...
