I've finally got my dream job...

Hi Mama 🤎

Were you one of those kids who knew what they wanted to be when they grew up or did you just want to try everything like me?

Well I think I've finally found the perfect job...

It's called "Mom"

You see, as a Mom I get to be the educator, the nurse, the chef, the maid, the event planner, the entertainment, the warden, the stylist, the good cop, the bad cop, the nutritionist, the gardener, the safety police, the driver, the therapist, the pastor, the cheerleader, and the personal trainer.

But as a ranch mom, I also get to be the supporter, the gate watcher, the gopher, the tool holder, the gate getter, the caretaker, the bovine lactation consultant, the meal maker, the homemaker, the schedule keeper, the counselor, and the counter of everything.

As farm and ranch Moms, we really do get the best of both worlds, don't we?

This was a thought that crossed my mind last winter. We were in the middle of calving season and I had just gotten back from doing my 2:30am barn check when my infant son woke up. As I nursed and rocked him back to sleep, I praised God for the blessing of being able to help my husband out by doing a night check AND I got to snuggle and nurse my baby back to sleep.

How cool is that? That we get to do BOTH!

We get to bring new life into the world by having our own babies and raising them up, but we also get to experience new life coming into the world in the barn and the pasture every year and raise them up, too. God is so good! Sometimes, I can't believe this is my life! 🥹

Sure, sometimes it feels like we're on the sidelines more often than not and sometimes, it's really, really hard, but I want you to know that I think you're doing the most important work out there. Raising up God's 2 legged and 4 legged creatures is NOT easy but he specifically chose you for the job and He doesn't make mistakes.

So whether you're a new Mom just getting started raising BEEF & BABIES, or you've been at this a while raising CATTLE & KIDS, or you're hustling on the farm raising CROPS & KIDS, this one's for you! 🫶🏻

God bless you if you're doing all three 🙌🏻

May you find ✨ joy in the journey ✨in your role as a woman in Ag!

Hey! I want to take a moment to introduce myself—and the incredible woman joining me to help lead the Soul Strength Retreat: A Retreat for Women of the Land. Hi! I'm Jesse-born and raised a farmer’s daughter and now living my dream as the rancher’s wife and mother of 3, I’ve been living the rural life for a little while now. However, I’ll be the first to tell you it isn’t always easy, and I hardly ever get it right. In between ranching and chasing kids, I love coffee, gardening, quilting and...

Hi @firstname! Today’s email from me is a little more personal. I was looking back through my journal that I've keep my ideas in over the last 2 years as one does when planning something big (like a retreat!) and found an entry that I wrote in January of 2023 and I wanted to share it with you: "I want to become a life coach for rural women. I want to help them reach their full potential and thrive in their roles on the farm and ranch. Rural women are the foundation of the farm and ranch. They...

Dear fellow woman of the land, I get it. The early mornings, the late nights, the meals thrown together between chores. The endless to-do list that never seems to shrink. The weight of keeping everything running—on the farm, in the home, for your family. You give so much of yourself to everyone and everything else… but when’s the last time you did something just for you? That’s exactly why I created Soul Strength. Imagine stepping away from the daily grind for a weekend surrounded by women...
